Operating safely in the outdoors is of paramount importance. However, in order to achieve the criteria set down by the DofE award and to maximise the potential development of participants it is necessary that the students taking part in the expedition plan and complete it unaided. At WCC our focus is on training as an ongoing process. We believe that an appropriate degree of training before and during the practice journey will give participants a chance to develop their skills. Thus effectively maintaining safety whilst maximising the quality of the expedition from the participant’s point of view.
